To create an original illustration using Met Office’s science data, to visualise the changing climate. The purpose of the illustration is to simplify the numbers into a tangible visual, to help build climate change awareness and encourage action.
The idea was to make people understand the gravity of the situation of climate change which is drastically increasing over the years but also to present it a way that makes it eye-catching (Literally). I wanted to highlight this scale of change by using color strips to show the average increase in temperature.
Opening your eyes to climate change
Each strip signifies a certain degree and a certain color shade. The strips were then segregated into three main sections based on the sudden temperature changes along the years.
